18 Years of SOLID means 18 questions with each of the SOLID Senior Management team who, along with your support, keep the wheels of our successful business moving ahead.
Designed to be insightful and fun (what our brand is really all about) – this series is really a ‘the-people-behind-the-business’ type of thing. Please join me in getting to know our Senior Management Team a little more. 💙
Next up we have: Annette Gardner
Annette is our Marketing Manager – usually found living and breathing SOLID branding she has just the right amount of enthusiasm, craziness, fun, strategy and luck to keep our team and brand looking great! She’s been with SOLID for over a decade and has the ‘marketing stuff’ storage needs to prove it 😉
Forever smiling, Annette always has a plan up her sleeve.
Her 18 questions went a little like this:
Question 1: What’s your favourite time of day?
When my 2 small daughters climb into be with me for a morning snuggle before we all get up to get dressed.
Question 2: What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had?
Learning how to meet people where they are regarding communication to achieve successful goals
Question 3: What’s one vice you wish you could give up?
Question 4: What’s a cause that is important to you?
Aid for Aid or TEARS. They are both animal charities in my local area and they do incredible work for creatures that are too often subjected to the awful whims of humans.
Question 5: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?
I overheard someone once describing SOLIDitech as “The most authentic company [they] had ever worked for”. As Marketing Manager I spend lots of time cultivating our culture and brand and this is a seemingly throwaway comment that really made my heart sing.
Question 6: When are you the most inspired?
Cheesy – but inspiration mostly hits me in the shower in the mornings
Question 7: Sweet or savoury?
Question 8: What song can you listen to on repeat?
Imagine Dragons – Thunder
Question 9: What are the three things you can’t live without?
My husband and my 2 daughters
Question 10: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?
Accepting a random Romanian man’s tourist guide offer off of a random train station in the heart of Romania to go and see Bran Castle (Dracula’s castle). He had a beat up old car and spoke very little English. It ended up being a wonderful and cherished memory.
Question 11: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
The harder you work, the luckier you get (My Dad)
Question 12: What’s something you notice about someone when you first meet them?
Usually all the details.
Question 13: What’s your favourite board game?
Tough one. Ticket to Ride, Catan and Pandemic all feature highly.
Question 14: What’s one city you’ve always dreamed of traveling to?
Question 15: What’s the one talent you wish you had?
To speak more languages
Question 16: What’s your favourite fast food order?
Question 17: Do you like surprises?
Question 18: What did you want to do with your life at age 12?
I think I wanted to be a wildlife photographer when I was 12. Not something I would ever actually have the patience for!
And that’s a wrap!
We hope you enjoyed this ’18 Questions’, know a little more about Annette and are looking forward to getting to know our Senior Management Team with this series.
